Special Requirements to Foster Vick Pit Bull

The potential foster home must commit to at least a 6 month stay and obedience classes with our trainer. They must own their own home (cannot be renters), have a securely enclosed yard with at least a 6 foot fence, be able to demonstrate a history of successful pet ownership, be an adult-only home, have no pets or only one other pet who would be a submissive male dog, and must have at least 3 references. Before actually meeting the dog, the potential foster will be required to attend 2 obedience classes working with another of our dogs, so we can see how they do in training. The potential foster does NOT need past experience at obedience training; we are simply looking for how he/she interacts with the dog. Our trainer will work with the foster parent to gain the CGC/Therapy Dog certification for the Vick Pit Bull and the trainer will take the dog on outings to further her public training.
