Amber- Courtesy Animal
This is not an ART dog. Please call the number below to find out what the adoption procedure is.

I am very sad to have to give Amber for adoption. She is a wonderful animal and we love her very much but she doesnt get along with our other dog and needs to be in a single dog family. We have tried everything, trainers and such, the result of which is that Amber is very obedient, but still fights with our sheltie. She loves children of all ages. She is almost three years old, 65 lbs. spayed, and has all her shots. We will include her medication (ie heartworm and flea prevention)for a year as well as her crate. Amber loves frisbee, is an excellent walker on a leash, loves to chase squirrels and is generally a lot of fun. For more information about Amber, please contact Lisa Boyd at 757-224-6477 or (cell) 757-713-9112 or by email: lisaboyd1@cox.net I will drive anywhere, do anything, to find Amber a good family. Please help.

Koda - Courtesy Animal
This is not an ART dog. Please call the number below to find out what the adoption procedure is.

Koda is a purebred Dalmatian with classic markings, and a black ear.  He is six years old, neutered, and very well-mannered.  He knows how to do many tricks and has NEVER had an accident in the house (amazing).
He loves to go for walks, runs, and play with a tug-type toy.  He mostly loves to sit down near your feet while you are on the couch, and have you pet him.  He rarely barks, usually only if someone actually comes up to the door. He likes attention and thrives on affection.  This is the main reason he needs a new home.  My work schedule does not allow me the amount of time that he deserves to be happy.  He is used to children, but I do not recommend a family with small children that may not know better and may try to pull his tail or yank on him because he is not used to that.  He is used to children over the age of 5.
I hope that if you are considering taking Koda into your home that you would be able to provide him with the love and attention he needs and deserves.
Please contact Norea at 757-239-1199 for more information.

buddy

Buddy - Courtesy Animal
This is not an ART dog. Please call the number below to find out what the adoption procedure is.

Buddy is a black lab/retriever mix that we need to find a home for. He is 6 yrs. Old. We are moving out of the state Nov. 14 and cannot take him with due to housing circumstances. He been neutered and is current on his vaccines. Has regularly seen the vet for checkups and have all his paperwork.
Buddy is an excellent family pet!! He is great around kids of all ages and other pets. Weighs only 25 lbs. full size. Great personality. Thinks he is a child and likes to snuggle on your lap. Only issues we’ve had is that he can jump a 6 ft. wall and needs an invisible fence or tethered. For information: 757-377-0578 or haasefam6@cox.net

sadie

Sadie - Courtesy Animal
This is not an ART dog. Please call the number below to find out what the adoption procedure is.

I'm Sadie, a very friendly 2 year old staffordshire terrier mix. At 40 pounds, I'm slender and absolutely beautiful. I was rescued from animal control very underweight and I'm grateful for every single day. I'm crate trained, working on housetraining and doing very well. I also know basic behavior and commands. (I'm very smart )I love everyone and greet them either by hugging them or by throwing myself at their feet on my back for a belly rub. Im a die hard lap dog and would LOVE to share your bed with you. I get along with any dog who lets me be in charge, but I'd prefer a home with one who is big enough to play with me. I need a big yard with a tall fence. My adoption fee of $195 includes: vet checkup, vaccines, heartworm check, spay, and microchip. To find out more about me, call my foster mom at ( 757 ) 432-9222. or email her at Mobenaus@aol.com Put "Sadie" in the subject line.

Luca

Luca - Courtesy Animal
This is not an ART dog. Please call the number below to find out what the adoption procedure is.

Luca is a wonderful mixed breed pup. He is likely some kind of terrier mix, possible Boston. Maybe some lab too, but he is so small (only about 25-30lbs) He is solid black and has the cutest bat ears when he is paying attention to something. He gets along with other dogs wonderfully, likes cats (they don’t always like him) and adores people and children. He is about 10 months old and up to date on all shots and neutered. He will do anything for a belly rub, loves to play fetch and is completely housetrained (with a doggie door) and is not a chewer as long as he has plenty of toys. He also walks great on a leash. Luca would like to be in a home where he can get plenty of lovin’ - Please send us an email if you would like to meet him - Michelle at mdwest@charter.net

Dodger

Dodger - Courtesy Animal
This is not an ART dog. Please call the number below to find out what the adoption procedure is.

Dodger (a 7-year old neutered male) has a very thick, soft fur coat with a rich golden color.  He is a VERY alert dog who seems to notice everything that moves, makes a noise, or tries to sneak up behind him.  He is very protective of his people and seems to consider any loud noise (thunder, firecrackers, etc.) as a potential threat that must be warned away.  If he’s outside, he goes into patrol mode, circling the backyard and barking at the noise.  Since he wants to be close to his people, being on the other side of any door from you means he is on the wrong side of the door and he will let you know it with a series of distressed barks.  He settles down and seems to do fine if you are not home – but as long as he can hear you or see you through a window, he can be pretty insistent!   One of his games of choice is chasing a stick (not to necessarily return it), but if you really want to get his heart racing, offer to play tug of war with him.  He loves to play this with his foster family and their dogs.  His foster family consists of 2 adults, 2 children (ages 6 and 3) and 2 canines.  He does fine with other dogs and smaller children (although infants might be too much for him).  Dodger got his name because, if he gets out of the house, he likes to run, and he did a great job of “dodging” his foster mom while on a merry chase around the neighborhood his first day with them.  Therefore, Dodger requires a fenced yard (no electric fences please) if you are interested in adopting him.  His age only shows in a slightly slower run and a slowness on stairs.  Because of this, Dodger would love a ranch/one-level home.  Although Dodger needs work walking on a lead, he does enjoy walks and car rides.  He is good with sit, down, and waiting in a down position until “okay” to get his food.  He is fully housebroken and can be left up to 9 hours inside without accidents.

Potentials can complete (either electronically or in paper format) our adoption application found on our www.adoptagolden.com website.

Zack

Zack - Courtesy Animal
This is not an ART dog. Please call the number below to find out what the adoption procedure is.

Hi, my name is Zack. I'm a energetic pit bull that has been asked to find a new home. I was stray for a while and this nice family took me in to help me find my owners but they never showed up. Now I'm looking for a permanent home. I love to chase tennis balls, sticks, really anything. I also love to play a game called, "run as fast as you can"...I do it really well. I haven't had "the surgery" yet but the guy watching me says he will help pay for that...(not sure I like that). If you'd like to meet me, contact Dave at millsmdm@cox.net.

Tank

Tank - Courtesy Animal
This is not an ART dog. Please call the number below to find out what the adoption procedure is.

Male
Pit Bull
50 lbs, 1 year
I am called Tank because of my big, blocky head, but I look like the quintessential pit with my "buff" muscular body. But,not only am I handsome, I am sweet and quiet, too. My friends think my personality is my best feature, because I get along with everyone--even cats!! I will shake your hand and sit if you ask politely, but my favorite pastime is having my tummy scratched by anyone kind enough to oblige me. (Most can't resist). I am very playful--I love to fetch the ball, but, watch out!! I will tease you with it until I decide it's time to give it back. I'm very good at tug of war, too. Right now, I am living with three senior dogs and some cats. Although I am happy to be safe and loved, it's dullsville over here. I would love to perhaps have a companion who truly wants to play with me. Even a cat will do. I've been told that if you look into my eyes, your heart will melt--so, fair warning. If you would like to visit me in my foster home, please call Nancy Bland at 420-6349 or 286-5820 or email me. blandnl@cox.net
