Every Donation Helps!

Donations are used to offset costs of spaying/neutering and vaccinating rescued animals, run classified ads in the Virginian Pilot promoting our adoption events and area municipal shelters, as well as cover administrative and operational costs.  As a 501(c)3 organization, your donation is tax deductible.

Did you know that:
…a gift of $15 helps cover the cost of vaccinating an animal?
…a gift of $15 helps cover the cost of our adoption event ad?
…a gift of $20 helps cover the cost of spaying or neutering an animal?
…a timed gift of $10 per month means you have helped spay or neuter 6 animals?

Direct donations may be done online or through the mail. 

  • General donation – if you do not specify a use for the funds, they will be deposited into our general account.
  • Specified fund donation – if you request a specific use for the donation on the memo line of your check, we will be sure the money is used for that purpose
  • Tribute – donate in honor of a living friend, relative, or companion animal.  We will send an acknowledgement card to you and the person you donate in honor of.
  • Memorial – donate in honor of a loved one’s memory. We will send an acknowledgement card to you and the family of the loved one you have donated in honor of.

Estate Giving:
Remember ART in your will. You do not have to be wealthy to leave a legacy.  Every little bit helps. Please consider a portion of your estate to ART. For more information, please call us at 757-456-1354 or e-mail artanimals@yahoo.com.

Indirect donations:
Even if you can’t make a direct donation, you can still contribute to ART by shopping at the following places:

  • IGive.com is an online charity mall with over 400 popular stores in it.  Registration is simple and free. Shop through iGive to find special savings at some of your favorite stores, and a percentage of your total purchase will go to ART.
  • Food Lion MVP cardholders can now designate a portion of their grocery bill for Animal Rescue of Tidewater.  Here's how: Complete the online form that will link your Food Lion MVP Card to ART.  Each time you shop at Food Lion and use your MVP card, a portion of your grocery bill is designated for ART. Please note that you will need to RE-LINK your card annually (each fall) to continue to help ART through Food Lion's Shop & Share Program.
