Fruit Snack

2015-04-14T16:47:13-04:00

We are happy to introduce Fruit Snack. She is a feral kitty living in a colony cared for by volunteers. Her care taker’s grandkids named her Fruit Snack, just adorable! She’s a cute and spunky gal who somehow injured her eye and needed some help. ART was able to spay this sweet girl, get surgery for her eye and get her vaccinated. She was monitored while she healed and is now back with her colony doing just fine. (We also had her boyfriend neutered). Her caretaker is so thankful for the assistance and we want to say thanks to all of our supporters and Sustaining Members for the donations that made this possible.

Gizmo

2015-04-09T15:39:15-04:00

Recovering and No Longer in Pain
Poor Gizmo fractured and dislocated his hip after slipping on icy stairs during a snowfall. After paying for an x-ray and consultation with the emergency vet, Gizmo’s mama only had $110 to put towards the necessary $825 surgery. As a mother of three with an income of only $1200 a month, she was already struggling to make ends meet, so she asked ART for help. ART stepped in and collected the additional $715 needed to pay for the operation. Little Gizmo is now well on his way to recovery!

Arcy

2015-04-09T15:38:17-04:00

Good as New!
Sweet and super playful Arcy had already undergone surgery to repair two blown-out knees. When ART was contacted by Arcy’s mama, she was in need of another operation as the previous repair to one of her knees had not held up. The vet was recommending a newer procedure, A TPLO surgery, which is very costly. The initial quote was $3100. Because of ART’s relationship with the vet, the surgery was discounted by 25%. After the owner contribution of $1500, ART raised the remaining $825 to cover the cost of the procedure. The surgery was a success and Arcy’s knee is now good as new!

Chopper

2015-04-09T15:35:39-04:00

Healthy and Adjusting Well to Life on Three Legs
After chasing a cat over the backyard fence and into the road, Chopper was hit by a car, which caused paralysis in one of his legs. Due to his age, the family vet initially recommended minimal treatment; however, over time, Chopper developed an awful infection, as a result of licking his wounded leg, which made amputation unavoidable. His loving owner, a mother of two college students, was able to pay for Chopper’s x-rays, consultation, and a portion of the cost of surgery, but after exhausting all other resources, contacted ART for assistance with the remaining $398 needed to pay for the procedure. ART was able to raise the remaining funds for the surgery that eased Chopper’s discomfort and ultimately saved his life.

Sox

2017-07-17T16:18:02-04:00

Happy and Playful, as Ever!
Sox was left to fend for herself at an apartment complex. After living on her own and having two litters of kittens, a kind soul took her in, had her spayed, and gave her the home and love she deserved. Unfortunately, after some time, Sox developed mammary tumors, which were seeping fluid and making her very uncomfortable. With a very limited income and only a part-time job, Sox’s owner desperately wanted to help her, but could not afford the treatment, so she contacted ART. ART was able to raise the $750 needed to remove the tumors. Now Sox is back to her happy, playful self again!

Myla

2015-04-09T15:29:50-04:00

Myla had a blood clot that caused swelling in her ear and her eye to sag, resulting in tremendous pain. Her mama, a single mother of two recently separated from her husband, asked ART to help save her family’s cherished pet. The family had fallen on hard times financially and couldn’t bear to lose their dog. They were able to put $50 toward her care, but needed more assistance. Thankfully, ART raised the money the family needed to pay for Myla’s medical care. She is happy and healthy once again.

Lola

2015-04-09T15:19:55-04:00

Lola’s case was another dire situation where ART was able to provide life-changing assistance. Lola had a severe case of Pyometra (uterine infection). Her belly was bloated, she wasn’t eating and she was in terrible pain. Her owner, a disabled veteran, pleaded with ART to help save his “best friend.” He had already paid for Lola’s diagnostic care and could only put $50 toward the surgery. Thanks to ART, Lola was able to have the surgery she needed and is now healthy again. Lola can now continue to serve not just as a loving companion at home, but also as a therapy dog for her owner, who lives with PTSD.

Lionel

2015-01-04T22:44:14-05:00
Recovered and Now Lives Inside
Emergency donations were needed for Lionel. An elderly woman moved into her daughters home because she could no longer afford to live on her social security income. After the move, she began feeding a sweet little stray who she named Lionel. The woman grew to love Lionel and started to allow him into her home. One night Lionel came home with a dangling leg and in terrible pain. After Xrays, the vet determined that someone had shot him and shattered his leg. He needed surgery to amputate his leg costing approximately $550. ART’s donors came through in numbers and we raised the full amount needed. Lionel has recovered well from the amputation and lives a happy life inside with his mama and family.

Zeus

2015-01-04T23:40:10-05:00

Zeus got his surgery, but never lost his step.
Zeus is yet another special dog. He has been highly trained and also serves as a companion to an autistic child named Cole. Zeus plays a vital role in improving Cole’s quality of life. He prevents him from getting hurt around the house, and soothes him from night terrors. One morning Zeus unlocked the door and let himself out only to be stuck by a car. His accident resulted in a leg amputation. His family did not have the funds to cover the cost of surgery due to complicated house and vehicle issues. They are wonderful kind people who were in a bad spot. Thankfully, ART was able to raise donations to cover the surgery and Zeus is recovering and preparing to continue his care for Cole.

Maggie

2015-01-04T23:37:41-05:00

Maggie got her surgery.
As a puppy, Maggie was dumped at a vet’s office after being hit by car. The staff doctored her up and put her up for adoption. One of the employees decided to take her home. Now, nine years later, she thrives in her home with a purpose. She proudly serves as the companion, protector and soother of an autistic child. Sadly, while playing in the yard, she painfully tore her ACL and needed surgery. Her family was financially strapped because their son lost his health insurance and they were facing large medical bills. ART was able to raise the money needed for the surgery and Maggie’s ACL is good as new. She is truly loved and continues her service with her child thanks to our donors.
