To date, ART has already spent in excess of $15,000 helping families whose four-legged companions need assistance.  Our budget for all of 2011 was $15,000.  The needs in Hampton Roads are simply so great that we have already exceeded our budget.  As an ART Partner, we need your help.

Times are tough for so many – and that includes four-legged family members.  People can’t pay for veterinary care that will save a life, or their dog is unruly and they don’t know what to do; their house is being foreclosed upon, or a divorce is causing chaos, and the dog and/or cat can no longer be taken care of properly….

ART’s hotline gets calls like this daily.  We work very hard to help everyone with ideas, referrals, monetary assistance, and sometimes just a healthy dose of sympathy.  The first comment we often get is “you are one of the few groups that called me back.”

Our job is not just to dole out money – although we do so when it’s needed.  Our job is often to talk people through a situation. To listen.  It’s sometimes as simple as suggesting a trainer who can correct a situation in a family’s household, drastically changing their daily lives.  Our volunteers are tireless in providing every kind of assistance. Please consider donating (either by either check or online at ARTAnimals.org).  We want to be able to continue making a difference in the community.
